             Technologically proficient teachers are in great demand and many schools have begun to look for teacher candidates who can use technology appropriately for teaching. Michigan State University's College of Education is committed to preparing high quality teachers who are also technologically competent. As part of this commitment, for the 2002-2003 year, laptops will be distributed to students in the College of Education based on applications submitted by juniors, seniors, and Interns. .
             What: This grant includes the loan of a laptop computer and related peripheral equipment (e.g., digital camera, scanner, projector) as needed. You don't need to be a technology expert to apply for the award. What is important is making good use of the opportunity and your willingness to learn. The award is an excellent opportunity for all teacher education students who are interested in developing technology skills and learning more about how to use it creatively to enhance personal and professional productivity. .
             Who: This grant will be distributed to Juniors, Seniors, and Interns in the College of Education. .
             When: Applications will be accepted between April 29th and August 2nd. .
             Expectations: Grant recipients will be expected to participate in a laptop recipient listserv, two online surveys over the course of the year, and attend the annual College of Education Technology Conference in February. Also students will have the opportunity to attend a laptop training session early in the Fall.
