atomic bomb

If the United States didn't drop the bomb and went to war with Japan the United States would have lost a million soldiers. The Japanese would not surrender to the Americans, they would rather die than surrender. The Japanese soldiers would blow themselves up instead of surrendering, but he would also kill many Americans at the same time. This is why the war was so long but they wouldn't surrender, so the dropping the bomb on this day made the war end.
Many people were killed and injured in the dropping of the atomic bomb. The United States could no longer "do nothing" we had to "do something" to end the war. The atomic bomb was considered quick and even economical way to win the war, even though it was a cruel and unusual form of punishment for the Japanese citizens. The bomb was considered a quick end to the war but it was a slow and painful death to many people in Japan. The Japanese had radiation poisoning that gave them purple spots on the skin, hair loss, nausea, vomiting, bleeding from the mouth, gums, and throat, weakened immune systems, to massive internal hemorrhaging, and the disfiguring radiation burns. These effects on people still happened a month after the dropping of the bomb. Death and injuries are always part of war but a fast death is always easier then a slow and painful one.
The dropping of the atomic bomb stopped World War II in 1945. The bomb may have killed many people but in away saved more then it killed. President Harry Truman made the decision to drop the atomic bomb and he did everything he could to end the war but the atomic bomb seemed necessary to end the war fast. In the end the war was over and with loss of many soldiers the number who lived is greater.
