            In early August 1945, the atomic bombs were dropped on the Japanese city Hiroshima . The bomb quickly yielded the surrender of Japan and the end of the American involvement in World War II. On this day 70,000 lives ended in a flash. The American people were tired of the long and brutal war. The atomic bomb was necessary to end the war. Through out the war president Harry Truman first had to make the decision to drop the atomic bomb, then the dropping of the bomb, and then after the bomb was dropped. .
             The decision to drop the atomic bomb was made by president Harry Truman. Truman had many good reasons of dropping the atomic bomb. Truman decided to put many years of nuclear warfare research to use when he choose to use the atomic bomb. The bomb was built and used as a weapon of war, the bomb cost two billion dollars and if the bomb was not to be used the money would have went to waste. Truman also wanted to used the bomb to end the war quickly without the loss of many American lives. Many people did die from the bomb but the number of people who didn't is greater. If Truman was to go on with the war with Japan the number of Americans dead would have been doubled. So the president decided to spare the lives of many Americans by using the bomb at the cost of the enemy's civilians. Some of the American people were upset with the idea of the atomic bomb, because they felt that yes it will end the war but later there will be consequences. The dropping of the atomic bomb ended World War II.
             August 6, 1945 the atomic bomb was dropped on Japanese city of Hiroshima. The mission a success at 9:20AM. The bomb needed to stop the war because it was very costly in both money and lives. Also the American soldiers were going through very harsh treatment by the Japanese. In the war approximately 15 to 20 million military man and women were killed. 292,000 were Americans and 6,000 innocent United States citizens were murdered but the enemies.
