Criminal Justice System

The criminal justice industry, both in its public and private forms, is the fastest growing, least monitored and potentially most dangerous force in American society today. The government can conceal or tell the truth on whatever it wants society to know about leaving us in question on what to believe and what not to believe. Yes, it is understandable for the government to hide things from us but they should have done it in a more fashionable way. Meaning in the first place they should of never told us that they were hiding something from us leaving Americans nothing to question the system. But since they have these areas in the west keeping what happens inside sacred from us, makes us (Americans) question the system. What really happened to Rodney King or why were two Latino's on January 11, 1995 shot to death for what seemed to be a job well done by the NYPD? These questions and many others make's one question the government system that includes the criminal justice industry, which involves the FBI, DEA and CIA who probably conceal the truth on things everyday that they do not want the nation to know about.
Juan Gonzalez a reporter for the New York Daily News wrote about an incident that involved two Latinos and members of the New York police force. "The official account in the newspapers the next day seemed fairly open and shut: two Hispanic men forced their way into a South Bronx tenement apartment on the night of January 11, 1995, robbed a young couple, then threatened to return the next night" (Gonzalez 492). What seemed to be the truth left holes for questioning. Why would thieves come back a second time to rob the same people? Either they were stupid or NYPD was hiding something. "The surviving intruder, an 18-year old named Fred Bonilla, claimed that he and his friends had already surrendered and were on the ground when police opened fire I followed with a report that the alleged robbery had not even been a robbery! In fact, the couple in the apartment were running an illegal marriage ring, where they paid citizens to marry undocumented immigrants so they could be naturalized.
