             WILLY RUSSEL HAS SERIOUS MESSAGES ABOUT EDUCATION AND SOCIAL DESPIRATION .
             The play is about some school children from a poor part of Liverpool going on a school trip to Conwy Castle. I found the play very funny. Willy Russell uses a variety of characters by having school children, school teachers and members of the public in the play. He uses different locations because they do not just visit Conwy Castle they visited quite a few different locations as well such as zoo, cliff, beach and fair ground scenes. The social deprivation of these children are that they would like to have big houses with big trees and a good change to their life.
             The serious message about education in this play tells you if you don't work hard you will end up like Carol and not know things like where Wales is, we know this because Carol says .
             "Will we have t" get a boat?" .
             It also shows you that if you don't work hard you will be in a progress class not being able to read or write. Some children do not receive a good education they come from bad backgrounds which makes it harder for them to learn. If the children are not happy with what goes on at home it can affect their home life and background. Carol is a good example of having a bad life style and background because she would rather live on a cliff in Wales than go back home we know this because she says.
             "I wanna stay here. Where it's nice." .
             Carol has also got a very limited vocabulary when she is talking.
             In the play there are two main teachers Mrs Kay and Mr Briggs. Mrs Kay is a very kind teacher who respects the children. We know this because she organises trips for the progress class to Wales knowing they are not the best-behaved children. When the children are getting onto the coach she covers up for them when the bus driver tells them to get all of their chocolate and lemonade out of their pockets by saying.
             "These are the children, Ronny, who stand outside shop windows in the pouring rain, looking longing and never getting.
