Ecological Issues

One of the ecological issues in early 21st is global warming, where increase in green house gases is leading to an increase in temperature. The rapid population growth is also a major ecological issue today, as it put pressure on limited resources such as water and food. Disposal of waste is also one of the major issues now, as its virtually impossible to get rid of garbage without affecting the planet. Pesticide and fertilizer use to increase agricultural output has very large repercussions on the ecology of this planet because it poisons the soil and food sources of other animals. Large scale indiscriminate fishing of oceans and lakes leads to a depletion of fishes and other aquatic life forms.
Increasing population is the biggest problem today. Increasing population contributes to all the above listed ecological issues. To increase the amount of food to feed the large population we use pesticide and fertilizer which leach into the soil and end up washing into water sources thereby increasing levels of toxic chemicals. The animals and birds that eat food that has been sprayed with pesticide die and often these animals get eaten by other animals which leads to the poison remaining in the food chain. Large scale fishing is needed to feed a growing population which endangers the aquatic life forms in oceans and rivers. If sustainable fishing is not practiced we will see a decrease in fish stocks, this can lead to decrease in other marine life which depend on these fishes as their food source. Increasing population leads to an increase in consumption which in turn produces more garbage and pollution. Most garbage is being disposed into the rivers and ocean which pollutes the water and kills the aquatic water forms. The increase in population leads to increase in more factories and car use which causes the more carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. Carbon dioxide is also known as "Greenhouse Gas.
