Ethics

Ethics is an integral part of business as well as life. Strong ethical business practices can determine the success of a business. By following the correct ethical guidelines, companies and private businesses can assure themselves a clear conscience and good moral standing in the world of business and in the eyes of their consumers. .
Good ethics can be stated as being honest, clear and providing all the appropriate information when dealing with consumers and employees. Every company has equal ethical responsibilities to its shareholders, employees, customers, and the community in which it is located. Gary Lubin of Merck Capital Ventures, LLC says," The importance of high ethical standards in business cannot be overstated. Employees must understand the importance of quality and completeness, appreciate the process as well as the result, exhibit self-confidence, work well both independently and in teams, and above all, demonstrate high ethical behavior." A good code of ethics should be implemented in every company policy and be maintained throughout the life of the business. .
Not only does strong ethics apply when dealing with domestic consumers but also foreign. Unethical business practices also occur outside of our borders. In the business of trade, companies will do whatever it takes to get the best price and service from overseas investors. But in 1977 the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act came into play and made it illegal for U.S. corporations to make improper payments or bribes to overseas partners in order to help in the acquisition of sales. A standard of ethical conduct for practitioners of management, accounting, and financial management applies for all transactions foreign and domestic. All conduct and transactions should be in accordance with these standards. Competence, confidentiality, integrity and objectivity should all be considered as important aspects of ethics within business.
