I agree with what the quote is saying about the sacraments because the sacraments are truly unique gifts from God. The quote says that receiving the sacraments brings the Holiness of ourselves closer to heaven. This is an accurate statement because the Sacraments were instituted by Christ and were intended to give us grace. I think that part of this grace is to bring us as close to God as possible. The best way for us to be a part of God is through a strong spiritual relationship with him that will bring the things of earth closer to those of heaven. This is what the sacraments provide for us. There is nothing that God wants more then to be one with his people and be able to welcome them into his kingdom. The sacraments serve as a sense of Gods loving presence and give us the opportunity to achieve this. .
The Catholic Church teaches us that God interacts with us through the physical world in order to guide on the right path towards salvation. I feel that an extremely important part of this path is the very sacraments that we have been blessed with. Since the sacraments are rooted in Jesus" own values and actions they certainly represent the Holy rituals that God would want us to partake in. Through the sacraments we become closer to God because they are the rites of passage in the Catholic faith. This is because they are a very important part of our Christian Journey through life. I do believe that the sacraments can bring us closer to God and closer to heaven because they were so important in Jesus" time. Jesus made it clear that baptism was an important part of Christianity and he showed that anointing the sick was something that God really appreciated.
