America's New War

As I awake for another day's journey and begin to go about the norm, America is terrorized and innocent lives are lost due to four stolen American and United Airliners. Reporters all over the country reported that two airliners hijacked by terrorist struck the World Trade Center Twin Towers Tuesday September 11, 2001 destroying not only these monuments of financial power but over four-thousand nine-hundred and fifty-seven lives were lost.
Americans across the country gazes upon this horrific sight shown on every local and nation television station, even the center of our military intelligence agency the Pentagon was attacked as well killing one hundred and eighty-eight people. .
Many believed that America was a super power and how could something like this happen. As I began to think about September 11, 2001, it was crystal clear why that date stuck out to me. We were attacked on the ninth month and the eleventh day. In America whenever there is an emergency, we dial 911 to signify a call for help in the time of an emergency. Reports were poring in from around the country in New York and at the Pentagon. Dan Rather reports," President Bush, said that America vows vengeance for these cowardly acts." Byron Pitts, a reporter that works for CBS was in the right place at the right time to get such a statement from New York's Police Chief," It's nothing personal, just business . I have never heard New York this quiet, grave yard quiet." .
Beyond the tears and agony, New Yorker's and workers at the Pentagon emerge with business but now it's not the norm. The New York Stock Exchange open's Monday September 17, 2001 and President Bush gives leaders of Afghanistan seventy-two hours to turn over the prime suspect Osam bin Laden or else. As Dan Rather finished the newscast, he asked for all American's to ask what this country was founded upon, GOD BLESS AMERICA.
