Ender's Game

Ender was bred to Destroy, the government allowed him to be born, which was a disgrace, because he was a third. He faces many challenges, as he is placed under constant observation, is studied and watched. He makes many an enemy because of his gifts and attention. He is recruited to a very harsh school that orbits 400 miles above earth. My point is that his superiors, and most of the people around him treat him wrong. He does more than anyone thought he could do, he defeats the enemy.
When he was young, the government installed a small device, called a monitor, on the back of his neck. He is monitored 24/7 be some scientist or psychoanalysis. Many people laugh and make fun of him for having it, and being a third child (strictly forbidden in these times) makes matters worse. Being watched al the time takes it's toll on Ender, and when his monitor is finally taken away, many children come after him, because he is not monitored anymore by some all seeing eye. He is quickly confronted, and he kicks the snot out of a boy named Stilson. Because of this, and the reason he does it, he is recruited into Battle School.
After Ender is just starting to fit into his Launchie group, and gaining some respect, he is pushed up, and is placed into an army, way underage, and with a very temperamental, and non-understanding leader. When he asks to fight, he is denied. He can only sit and watch at practice, and many of the other activities he is excluded from and made to do his homework quietly in the corner. He is traded after he shoots some of the enemy, when he was instructed not to.
Later, after only being in his new army and training for a year and a bit, he is given his own army, with mostly Launchies, no veterans, and they are all younger than Ender. He quickly trains them, and after a little while, he is battling one army a day, and sometimes more, winning every battle. His army quickly turns into the best army in all of Battle School.
