             Thesis: Liposuction, the most popular cosmetic surgery, has become very popular in the twentieth century because it helps boost many peoples self-esteem. .
             There are many factors that one has to consider before having the procedure of liposuction performed. There are many health risks that can occur when you have this surgery done. Although all most people having this surgery performed are aware of all these negative affects that liposuction can have on them most people still go ahead and go through with this surgery. (Willis 18).
             Liposuction is a technique that improves the body's contour by removing excess fat from fatty deposits located between the skin and muscle. Liposuction was first introduced to the United States in 1982. Liposuction is basically never a necessity to have done. Liposuction is performed on both men and women. The body parts that it is most commonly performed on include the abdomen, hips, thighs, knees, ankles, chin, breasts, "love handles," and neck. It is just a surgery that can help people feel better about their appearance. Many people feel that if they have this fat removed that many people that maybe never liked them will like them will now like them because of the supposed new look. (Willis 16).

             Although liposuction is thought of to be such a safe procedure, there are many harmful things that can occur. . Unfortunately, the serious complications that liposuction can have are underreported. There are many people who have died due to the effects that liposuction had on them. There is one case where a forty eight year old woman actually died after having what is thought to be simple procedure done. After about the second day after she had liposuction done to her neck and abdomen she experienced a fever, chills, nausea, vomiting, and then a foul smelling odor began to discharge from a trocar in the lower part of her abdomen. By the fourth day when a home health care nurse went to see how she was doing, she found her patient lying in a pool of diarrhea.
