Ruth

The story of Ruth is a short but wonderful example of how families should stay together no matter what. Ruth shows us that when times get hard and lonely we should always take care of the people that matter most to us our families.
Ruth was a woman who lived a long time ago with her husband and his parents. When her husband and her father in law died, Ruth and her mother in law, Naomi, returned to her homeland of Judah. But when they got there Ruth refused to leave her mother in laws side. She begged for her to take her back with her. Ruth said in Chapter 1 verse 16 and 17, Intreat me not to leave thee, or to return from following after thee: for wither thou goest, I will go; and where thou lodgest, I will lodge: thy people shall be my people, and thy God my God: Where thou diest, will I die, and there will I be buries: the LORD do so to me, and more also, if ought but death part thee and me..
So Ruth stayed with her mother in law and took care of her. When they got to her house it was time for the harvest. Ruth set out to find a field where she could glean ears of corn after the harvesters. She came upon a large field and the men of that field became upset with her for taking the corn off the ground after them. But then the man who owned the farm, Boaz, came and told them that it was okay for her to do that because he was Naomis brother in law. .
He invited Ruth to be among his people and take what she needed from his fields. When Ruth told Naomi about what had happened, Naomi told Ruth to go to Boaz and wait until he was done eating and then to lie him down and remove his shoes. When she had done this Boaz looked down and realized that Ruth was at his feet. He told her to lie down and sleep there and she did.
The next morning Ruth slipped out and told Naomi what had happened. Naomi said to be patient that the matter would be settled by the end of the day.
