This Is A Man's World

I knew I had to do it, but it was hard to bring myself up to the register. Slowly putting the magazine I had chosen down onto the desk , I looked up and saw the cashier giving me "the look." The look you get when you have just committed an act of deviance. Here I was, a 6'10", 250 pound guy, with this magazine looking at the cashier like a deer caught in the headlights. Immediately I explained myself, hopefully subduing many of the thoughts racing through her head. I asked for a bag to cover up this article of embarrassment and hastily walked out of CVS so that none of my friends or teammates would see what I had just done. I made a beeline for my apartment and once I got in the door I was home free. At first glance, I had thought that I had bought a magazine intended for women, dealing with issues about women, and for women; however on a deeper level this magazine was for ME. Just looking at the cover, the entire magazine was entirely based on looking good for men and knowin!.
g your man better. This one simple magazine made me realize just what a male dominated society we live in, where a woman can't even buy her own magazine without being pushed towards doing what men want first. From the picture of Sandra Bullock to the article titles on the cover of Marie Claire Magazine, I could see how beauty was not on the inside, but solely on a need for recognition from the opposite sex.
             .
Sandra Bullock is a very beautiful woman, no matter what she wears. She has a naturally attractive look. The olive skin, trim body, angled facial features are all features men look for in women. She would be what many men, sounding immature, would call "hot." On this magazine cover she is wearing a see-through, tight shirt with a head of hair that many women would die for. This is NOT what caught my eye; it was her stance. She is standing upright, pushing out her chest and pulling her arms and shoulders back to increase the size of her breasts making her breasts the main emphasis of the picture.
