Crisis In Iraq

I have decided to write about the pending crisis in Iraq for this assignment. I will discuss this topic from both a realist and a pluralist point of view. I will share my opinion of the issue, and offer possible outcomes of the end result. .
President George W. Bush recently told Americans of the danger of Saddam Hussein. He stated that The Iraqi leader is a major threat to the world. Bush told us that the American government has evidence indicating that Saddam has weapons of mass destruction, which he will not hesitate to use. This statement brought a lot of concern to the American people, which was accentuated by the events of September eleventh, 2001. .
President Bush began to threaten military action against Iraq, unless they would agree to an inspection to verify the absence of these weapons. This threat of military action brought about mixed feelings from the American people, as well as world wide. From the realist point of view, military action seems appropriate if it will succeed in destroying this evil individual, and his regime. Pluralists typically avoid war, and look for peaceful resolution, and a greater explanation of the accusations.
Pluralists in America have determined that this action has nothing to do with weapons of mass destruction, but rather as a threat to Iraq not to limit the export of, or raise the price of our oil. This belief has led to the formation of an anti-war campaign that is growing by the day. In recent news, I have learned that 100 celebrities have spear-headed an anti-war petition. This is a big step because celebrities have a lot of pull in American culture.
In an attempt to confirm the validity of his fears, President Bush has been continuously trying to gather more evidence against Iraq. The U.N. has begun searching Iraqi facilities for the said weapons. To date they have found mustard gas, and there are still several weapons that are unaccounted for.
