             Mike volunteered to be a participant for a doctoral training program in assessment to assess whether he has attentional difficulties or hyperactivity/impulsivity that may need to be addressed clinically.
             Background Information:.
             Mike is a 25 year-old, Caucasian male currently residing in Philadelphia and studying in the field of radiology. He has a bachelor's degree in psychology from Temple University. He is single and resides with his parents and older sister. He reported that he has not had a romantic relationship for over two years. He furthermore indicated that his current focus rests on his academic performance and developing his career. Moreover, Mike has had several friends throughout the years. However, he has not held very close relationships outside of the school environment. At present, Mike reported that he is close friends with a classmate in his radiology program. .
             Mike reported that this childhood was happy, and that at times when he was younger he was timid and shy. He added that he gets along well with his family, and enjoys spending time with them. He spoke with much enthusiasm about his family, and indicated a deep appreciation for the love and support that he has been provided with on a consistent basis from his parents, sister, and grandparents. .
             Behavioral Observation:.
             Mike was well-groomed, dressed in a very neat and orderly fashion. His attitude was cooperative, and he was eager to begin the tasks and questionnaires presented to him. He displayed an appropriate range of affect and his mood was labile. Mike's expressive and receptive skills were well developed as evidenced through the Clinical Interview and his responses in the WAIS-III. .
             He had a tendency to correct himself on several of his responses to the test items. His attention and concentration was intact throughout the test-taking process. There were a few instances of eagerness to complete the tasks as evidenced by tapping his foot on the floor and looking around the room.
