Great minds and common people alike have been asking themselves, "Where do we really come from?" There are two major sides to this issue. Creationism, or the belief in the literal interpretation of the account of the creation of the universe and of all living things related in the Bible, and Evolutionism, or a theory of biological evolution, especially that formulated by Charles Darwin (Dictionary.com). Certainly are others, and one of them might be correct, but today, evolutionism is the one most accepted in the scientific community.
For many years, God was the predominant answer, but after the ideas of Darwin, scientists have taken the task to trace humans back to the beginning of existence and try to give a scientific explanation. Obviously, since no one really knows for certain what happened that resulted in the creation of man, it can only be determined on a personal basis; through religious beliefs and educated guesses.
To get a better idea of your side of the issue, you have to understand both of them. First we will look at evolutionism; it's ideas and how it came about. Scientists believe that our planet was born 4.6 billion years ago as a great cloud of dust and gas condensed into a sphere.
