Island Life

When most people think of living on an island, they think of tropical weather, beautiful scenery, and relaxation. However, I feel they would have a different view if they were stuck on this island with no rules, no possessions, and no way to contact people on the outside world. Life on this island is about survival and not about vacating and relaxing.
Life on this island would be interesting because there are no laws or any regulations. To achieve survival, all the occupants of this island would have to work together as a team. The government would be somewhat socialists, meaning everyone would have to work together to achieve a common goal. The people of this community would constantly be interacting with one another, helping each other with food, shelter, and safety. Each person would have a specified job or task which would be done everyday. In spite of this, some people might choose to live their lives independently and refuse to work with the others. Those who would choose this alternative would have a strenuous life and would be constantly working.
I do not feel that this community would survive for a long period of time. Too many variables directly affect the people living on this island in a negative way. At first this community would be fairly successful, but as time goes by the attitudes of the people might change. In the beginning the occupants might feel rather hopeful; however feelings of despair and anguish might weigh heavy on the minds of the people on this island. One problem that might occur is the lack of food. Food might be scarce on this island or hard to catch due to the insufficient tools or weapons. The only sources of food would be fish, plants or vegetation, and whatever animals can be hunted.
Storms could be a huge dilemma to the residents on this island. The wind and rain would be harsh and unforgiving and could knock down or ruin the shelters.
