Media Log

While first viewing my media log, I immediately realized my exposure to media was far more than expected. It, however, was not as varied as I would have thought it to be. Although I believe that the week of evaluation was not a week that was typical of my schedule and everyday routine. My car stereo was stolen three days before which severely limited my access to music while driving. I also flew to Boston and returned home during the week, which gave me an opportunity to read for the lengthy eight hour roundtrip flight. Regardless of these factors I will try to make the best assessment as to what a typical week's log would look like and compare it to my current log. As well as making comparisons between my exposure to media in another city, and my exposure to media while in my home state. .
I figured that my most exposure to media would likely be to television, as it is stated in the text that the average American spends three to four hours daily watching television. But because of my scheduled trip, I spent less than one hour exposed to the television medium. Five days in another city, spent mostly working, would likely keep anyone from watching T.V. The hour that I spent was watching "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" on UPN. Granted not the most intellectual hour of my life, but entertaining nonetheless.
During a typical week I would assume that my exposure to radio would easily be my largest exposure to media, but as my stereo was stolen I wasn't exposed to the radio at all on my own. While traveling in my company's vehicle in Boston, our driver was playing some music but it was a recording. I never listened to the radio while at my hotel, or at my house. During a regular period I would spend at least two hours a day driving, and while driving I keep my radio locked on KXRK or X96. Radio is probably my most frequented of the media. Depending on what music they are playing during the day, can determine my mood and energy level.
