Greek Mythology VS Roman Mythology

These people, as we are today wanted to do right by the gods, as we do with our God.
According to the article "Roman Mythology 1998," "The Romans believed that their religious practices maintained the pax deorum- or "peace .
of the gods"- that ensured the community's continued prosperity." The Roman people thought the better of a person they were and the more they had, the more the gods would like them. Keeping the gods happy was a big deal; the people believed that if they did not, if they were to act out, that the gods would punish them, as they have heard before of in myths. A misconception many people have is that the gods were people but ". the Romans envisioned their gods more as powers than as persons." (Roman Mythology 1998). As I understand it, the gods and their myths were not real but yet their auras were. It was more of an aura that the Romans believed in not the god themselves. .
These two mythologies have many things similar to one another. Both types of mythology were passed down through story-telling or orally; many times this is all the people had even though through the years it is probable that the myths got mixed into each other and stretched. Carlos Parada could not have described better how the stories came to be when he wrote, "The myths have therefore been considered to be divine tales told by gods to men, who in turn transmitted them to their fellow human beings." Like our tales today, the Ancient Greek and Roman people turned to these tales for everything, love, weather, and war just to name a few (Greek .
             .
Mythology 1997). Both of these mythologies are very similar many times. When comparing myths a reader can see how each tale has influenced the other, allowing the myths to intertwine with each other and overlap at times.
Even the gods had their limits in power "They (gods) were represented as exercising control over the world and the forces of nature.
