Children's Story

Once upon a time, there were three black cousins. The three cousins all lived in a small county not too far away from one another. All of the children lived with their parents in separate parts of the town. Marlon, who was the oldest, lived in St. Mark. Genard, who was in the middle, lived in B-ville. Lastly, Bruce, who was the youngest, lived in Manville. The county in which they lived was a very special place during that time. It was the most beautiful and fun town around. The county was perfect except for one problem. The grown-ups in the town would argue because their skin color differed. One group of parents said that lighter skin was better. The other group of parents said that darker skin was better. It was this fact alone that kept the county from being perfect. .
All of the parents and their children, except for the three cousins and their parents, belonged to one of the groups. Both groups wanted the county to be perfect but did not know how to accomplish this. Of all the children who lived in the county, Bruce, Marlon, and Genard were the only children who knew the answer to the problem. The only problem was that they did not know that they knew the answer to the problem. Many of the grown-ups would ask their children for their advice, but all the children, except Bruce, Marlon, and Genard, replied with the same answer - "why are you asking us, we are just kids?!" When Bruce, Marlon, and Genard were asked, they all replied, "set your mind free." All the adults thought that the three were crazy. Most, if not all, of the adults disregarded what the three said and went on with their day.
One day, overnight, everything in the town reversed. The lighter people changed to the darker people, and the darker people changed to the lighter people. The poor people suddenly became rich, and the rich people suddenly became poor. The well educated people became uneducated, and the uneducated suddenly became educated.
