If no plan exists the parties are to submit a permanent parenting plan with both signatures. If the parties are unable to agree, a proposed parenting plan may be submitted or the court may order the partied into mediation. .

Parent Education Program for Divorcing Parents.
This program consists of two 2-hour sessions for divorcing of minor children. The program includes a mix of class discussion, viewing and discussion, viewing and discussion of video clips, and materials to study at home with the children.
Fee for the program is $25 per participant. This fee will be evaluated at six months and at one year and adjusted as needed.
County Extension Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) faculty will be the facilitators for the program. This faculty has as a minimum requirement a BS degree in Family and Consumer Sciences (Home Economics, Human Ecology) or a related field. Many have their MS degrees in FCS or related fields. The state parenting specialist for the Extension Services will provide curriculum, training, and support for the program. She has a Ph.D. in Human Ecology with a major in Family Studies. .
Not only do Extension Agents Provide programs in parent education, but they provide programming in nutrition, financial management, child development, child care provider training, and other topics. They have information and publications available on a variety of topics that can be of benefit to this audience. .
