Trina Hall Assistant District attorney came in and talk to the class she works in Delaware count and works in the special victims unit. The special victims unit deals with cases such as rape, shaken baby, the elderly, special needs, child pornography and travelers. Mrs. hall talked about how she went to law school at Villanova university and mentioned that she wish she hadn't went there their she said she wished she had went to temple to get her law degree. She said being though Temple is in the middle of the city she felt that you could be exposed and learn a great deal more. She told us when she got her bachelors degree she only made 11,000 a year being a teacher. She reminded us not to get our degree with expectation when we graduate we are going to jump into an 80,000 a year job because it doesn't happen that way it takes a lot of time and experience. .
Mrs. Hall also went into detail about the victims that she come across in her line of work particularly child pornographers and child rapist. She says there is no excuse for any adult to forcibly rape or statutory rape a child. She got most outraged at the fact that some people believe it's partly the child fault if the child consent. She reminded the class that no child have the mental capability to consent therefore it's still a crime.
She also touched on the shaken baby cases she demonstrated the force you needed to shake a baby to cause death to the child in that way. She says in not just a normal little shake but a shake that comes when someone is using all their might and strength.
