English

Mark Twain Charles Dickens Harriet Beecher Stowe, all of these people helped shape the future of our country with their writings. Ever since I first learned how to write I was wondering, why couldn't I do the same? It hit me then that I wanted to write something that is so good, so powerful, and so well written that it can change to course of history! I instantly loved to write with the dream that one day I could write something that will never be forgotten.
As quickly as my passion for writing flared it was diminished by the extremely boring, drawn out and uninteresting topics that we were assigned to write about. Writing became a drag and I hated every time out teacher said we had to write a paper. It came to a point where I would not even care to put much effort into my writing because the topics either did not pertain to me or were dull and not worth writing about. I still wanted to write something that would be looked upon by future generations but I was turned off by this unbearably horrible writing that I had to do. Like the assignment we had to write about "A Dead End" yes, it was that bad.
The teachers just got worse and worse with their assignments, but everyone so often we would get an assignment that I found interesting and I would write with so much passion, expression, and depth that the teacher came up to me one day and asked why I only wrote like that on some of the essays. I told her it was simple, I am a very opinioned person, and when a topic comes along that I have a strong opinion about I will do my best to show others my point of view or how I feel about it. I think it was at this time my teacher realized that she had been boring us all year long (or maybe she felt that she had tortured us enough) to this day I am still not sure which one it is, but ever since that talk I had with her she decided to give us meaningful, fun and most importantly interesting topics to write about.
