IT the Essence of Life Today

            In today's world every single person has heard the word "IT" but there are only a few people around who really know the meaning of this word. Actually IT is the abbreviation of "Information Technology". The basic concept behind "Information Technology is merging hardware and software in order to create communication link between two computers or two networks".
             Now the question that arises next is, what is software and what is hardware? The simplest answer to this question would be that "Hardware is the machine/ computer and all its parts" where as "Software is the program that controls the working of these machine parts or the entire machine".
             In today's world computer has become the essence/ basic necessity of life, may that be the life of a school going kid or a university kid or a business man. IT is everywhere. There was once a time when a person used to go out and used to find children playing different games on the streets but now if you go out you would rarely see any kid on the streets, cause now in every home there is a computer and 90% children are sitting on the computer playing games or chatting or surfing or some thing equal. What has made all this possible, this surfing the Internet or chatting or playing online games or exchanging information through emails? All this is because of information technology. There is no businessman around who doesn't use a computer to communicate with its clients or dealers. If there is a company that has multiple branches then a constant link is kept between the branches so that people can communicate or share data easily. How do you think all this is possible? All this is because of information technology and its different features. .
             Information technology enables communication between different networks or computers through the use of special hardware. The communication setup is of three types out of which the most basically used are two types that are the LAN's and WAN's.
