Raising Productive Members In Society


            Raising a productive member of society is a life long process. It starts at infancy and ends adulthood. The parents of a child are the main contributors of how a child will be raised. They will introduce the basic ideas of right and wrong, goods or bad, which will have a life long lasting effect. The mother has a special bond with the child that is very important for development. The mother supplies the basic needs for a child like food and emotional support. .
             This paper talks about the interactions between the primary care giver and the child in which one affects the other directly and indirectly. It affects the mother and child directly in the sense that if the child is crying for any reason like the diaper that needs to be changed, or if the infant is hungry, the mother responds by changing the diaper or feeding the child. The mother can also affect the infants emotional growth if she does not provide enough emotional stimulus such as, holding, playing , or other inter actions. .
             There have been three documented cases by Mary Ainsworth that studied attachment in babies. The three patterns that she found are, securely attached, insecurely attached, and anxiously attached. All these groups gave different reactions to the absence of their mother. Ainsworth found that these three reactions were directly associated with the different ways of parenting. These patterns also affected the children in adolescence. There is more to parenting than meets the eye; there are so many external variables that would influence the way that your children make good or bad decisions. Many people believe that the way you were brought up influences the way that you raise your own children. This is not always the case. Even though your own upbringing plays a big role in parenting, the choices that you and your child make will determine if you become a productive member of society.
             The war on drugs cannot be solved by just spending more money.
