Times Are Changing

Over time many things have changed; fashion, opinions, politics, and even morals, standards and values. The current generation is thought to be disrespectful and lax. There is a famous quote, dating back hundreds of years, stating that the next generation will be the death of us. The younger generation has not killed society yet though. The morals, values, and standards of high school students of the 1970's and those of 2000 will be looked at to see how the morals and standards of everyday high school life have evolved in the past thirty years.
Personally I feel that this is a very double-sided issue, with adults thinking and feeling the opposite way of the teens. It is said that many adults feel that kids have no respect these days, when the truth is no kid has ever had respect, no matter what era it is or was. The only two things that have changed is that the kids with "no respect" grew up and the era in which they lived, changed without them truly noticing. If you ask me, this cycle is inevitable. Rarely do you ever find a parent or adult who likes the music of that day. (This is only one example.) To be frank, I cannot wait until I get the chance to tell my children to "Turn down that racket and learn some respect." The main thing that people need to remember is that the way of life changes and evolves everyday, and trying to keep up with it becomes tiring after a while. The solution is not to completely give up on it, but when it comes time to stop following the changing ways of life, just try to realize that the way of life that you now know will not always be the way that other generations are going to act.
Morals and values have changed in many different situations and or aspects. But within school not much has really changed. Class syllabuses have been remotely the same throughout time by stating respect rules, dress code, and punishments. (R-Books). Though the rules may have stayed remotely the same, the way they were enforced were completely different.
