             For only being a head coach for thirteen years Coach Jackson has set some records that will be hard to touch. In his thirteen years he is sharing the lead with the most NBA titles with nine. Although Jackson is tied with the most titles he has the most wins and the best winning pct out of any coach ever in the NBA.
             The bulls" great run from 89" to 98" was all sparked by Phil Jackson being hired as head coach. Jackson did something with the Bulls in one year that usually takes other coaches years to do if ever. What Jackson did was built a consistent winning team around a megastar. After he was named head coach he changed the whole teams style, which was give to Michael and let him score. This bad coaching style was given to the team by the ex coach Collins. Coach Collins once said his philosophy was to "Give the ball to Michael and get out the way."- (Collins) This all changed once Jackson was named the head coach. Jackson designed complex offensive and defensive game plan that actually enhanced Jordan's greatness by making his teammates better players. Jackson brought his work ethics and beliefs as child to court with him every day. He taught the bulls what he had learned while playing for the Knicks, which was, unselfish team oriented basketball. His beliefs were that players can be stars, but only teams win. Some people thought coach Jackson's coaching style was a little crazy because he did it different than all the other coaches. "He has a really different approach to coaching the most coaches."-(Jerry Buss) One of the unique ways he got his team ready especially on road games, was giving them each a certain book to read or splicing movie scenes into game tapes so that message would get across. He would also get his players to meditate with him before games. One of the other coaching methods of Jackson's that are different from the rest of the other coaches is the motivation style.
