Abuse In Film

The movie I would like to discuss is Eye Of God. This movie although short, shows an all to familiar world of abuse and horror that many men and women have to live in. In our world today, abuse is not only a serious problem but a problem in which demands everyone's undivided attention. The articles about abuse that we read talked about the myths associated with abuse as well as giving descriptions of the usual offenders of these horrible actions. Abuse of any type mental or physical is disgustingly wrong as well as being just a tool of control for the person committing the abuse.
To sum up the movie briefly, an ex con recently released from prison finally meets up with the good ole country girl that corresponded with him while he was incarcerated. The good ole country girl who lives in a small town in where she knows everyone and everyone knows her and her father, meets up with the ex con at a local diner. They pretty much fall in love and it's not till after about 5 months of marriage that she finds out what the con was in jail for; which was spousal abuse and attempted murder of his ex girlfriend. He then starts showing the exact same behavior as from the past, even after he sworn his new wife up and down that he is a changed man. He starts both mentally and physically abusing her and almost kills her by throwing her to the ground and choking her. She becomes pregnant with his baby and then comically throws the event into his parole officer's face that has been trying to have a baby with his wife for nearly a year. He submits her to a form of physical and mental house arrest by telling her never to leave the house ever. She at the end of the movie starts sneaking out until the one night he finds out and then subsequently kills her and her baby. But if that wasn't bad enough a young 14 yr old boy who has already lost his mother to suicide befriends her and winds up seeing the murder and tries to help, however is overall unsuccessful.
