Philosophy and the Study of Life

They just wait to be given their food and fresh change of diapers. Little do they care about the question that drive other men to hop on a bike and travel across continents to find the answer. The meaning, the fundamental purpose, of life and existence is probably something no one can ever find, however many have devised several methods or rational ways of trying to understand such an abstract concept. Philosophy is the investigation of the nature, causes, or principles of reality, knowledge, or values, based on logical reasoning rather than empirical methods and is the main tool used to begin this search.
Where philosophy is more of a reasoning discipline there are other ways to go about exploring for the meaning of life. There is the scientific method which right now states that the universe came about through a random series of events, such as the big bang. Life then is said to have come about through evolution as well as more random events, such as the bizarre destruction of the dinosaurs. It is hard for some to imagine themselves as being a product of a series of haphazard actions. Thus, these people turn to religion to seek an answer. Religion, of course, provides every follower with a reason for existence, mainly to be good to others and live a happy life. However, there are several inconsistencies, as well as several religions, that those who are not completely satisfied turn to the philosophical approach. These people try to combine what they believe from science and theology into some for of reasonable understanding of the world around them as well as their purpose for existing. .
Within philosophy are several obediences that are followed. Ethics is the question of what should be versus what is. It is the study of what is good and bad and what determines these. Epistemology is the study of knowledge. The main concern of this is finding the proper justification and evidence to search for a meaning to existence.
