The wheels on the bus go round and round - straight to victory in Phoenix. First we had to take the 100 mile trip there. Feeling the heat from all the players crammed into the bus yelling and moving back and forth not being able to control the adrenaline pulsing through their veins. Looking past the excitement and jitters, every player knows what they have to do at the end of the day for the team to get a W. The closer we got to the school the more all of our nerves set in. The bus became silent as everyone focused on the goal ahead. Pulling our game faces on as we unload off the bus. We were at the field. The air was warm, the sun was setting, and it is time for Friday Night Lights. Every second that ticks away till game time, the more and more intense everything gets. Sitting in the locker room during pre-game hearing all the people walking into the stadium and knowing how packed this game is going to be really. It makes your stomach turn from all the nerves and some teammates throw up because of this. Thinking quietly to myself, all the practices, all the running, all the pain we endure all year long just to put it all out on the line. Everything we worked so hard for will mean absolutely nothing if we don't go out there and get the job done. Our families that drove all the way down to the stadium didn't come to watch us lose. .
If there is any fear out there on the field it better becoming from them. Sitting in the locker room while coach is giving us this speech makes me want the game to start so we can go out there and win but we know that we will need to keep our composer and mental toughness if we want to get the task at hand taken care of if we want the whole town to support us for years and years to come we have to win this game. If any person in this locker room has any doubt in your mind that we can't win this game stay in here everybody else gear up. With the hours and minutes ticked away it is now game time everyone is suited up helmet, shoulders pads, and game pants were already.
