Beyonce Knowles

The name of the song is "Dangerously in Love 2". It was sang, written and produced by Beyonce Knowles, a R&B singer/song writer. It is also on her new 2003 album titled "Dangerously in love". The song is written from a first person's person's point of view, which is the singer (Knowles). This is particularly effective because the song is about her life and who else will know it better than herself. Since it's her life, she knows more about it than anyone else. She serves as the storyteller/narrator, telling her love life story from her own point of view (which is arguably the best). This method is also very effective because Knowles refers to herself in the song as "I", "My", "Me" and this creates a more persuasive picture that she knows what she is talking about.

The topic and the theme of the song are two different things. The topic is the subject matter of the song while the theme is the statement being made about the subject. The theme of the song is the proclamation of her love to the man (and lover) who has provided it for her and has been her pillar of strenght and hope of her existance as a person. Without his love, she would be nothing. He also knows he is the only source of her joy, and therefore should always keep lo

There are a lot of figurative language in this song that create very powerful imageries. For example, she uses assonance in the third line: "...relation, in connection..." of the first verse for musical effects. She also uses metaphor. For example, "You are my raindrops, high in the sea". This example is a comparison between two unlikely things that have something in common and this creates a powerful imagery. It has the same effect of a comparison/contrast in an essay. She also uses a lot of hyperbole (intended exaggeration) that create very powerful imagery. Most of the hyperboles are for dramatic effects. For example, she sings things like, "I can't do this thing called life without you next to me" and "...I see my whole future in your eyes". All these exaggeration is made for emphasis and to pass the message clearly to the audience that the love of this man is like a sweet ectasy. Knowles uses more intended exaggeration when she says, "Everytime it feels so good, it hurts sometimes". Once again, this is just to over emphasize the point she is trying to pass across to the audience that her love for this man is over any bounds and limits. She also uses pathetic fallacy -which is very effective for emphasize and creatin powerful imageries- when she says: "...my heart smiles" to create a strong imagery and picture of the man being the ultimate person, because it will take a lot of ultimacy to make a person's heart smile (it' literally impossible to make a person's heart smile). Another effective m
