Humans in today’s world are progressing in terms of new technology. Technology is a body of human knowledge that can be passed along from one place to another and from one generation to the next. It’s the creation of tools or objects that extend both our natural abilities, and later our social environment. Technology is all around us and is changing the way our world works every day. Technology in many ways has made our lives easier. It is now faster and easier to write an email than to write a letter.(Gorard) Technology has also simplified the struggles we used to have when trying to stay in contact with one another. Technology can also have a negative effect on families, individuals and societies. With some of the higher technologies such as computers, televisions and cloning babies we are unfortunately having more of the negative influence than the positive influence. most people reality is all what they see in televisions, which is not a good sign for us.
A high technology such as Computers and Internet are also the cause of some social problems. Communication occurs to be in the computer itself. It effects on social relationship when interacting to each other; they no longer can see the body language and can’t make eye contact while chatting online. Some people get lazy and instead of going and meeting each other they just chat online. When we use computer communication technology it has an impact on the way family members relate to each other especially when the statistic shows that 80.5% of people choose to communicate online instead of meeting each other.(McLuhan) We use Internet and computer technology almost for everything of our life.
