The more influential the people of the lobby are to the government, the more likely the government would give in to the pressure. Since this is the case with corporations, it makes them extremely successful in this field. Business lobbies have worked strongly against the clean air and water legislation, the closing of federal wilderness areas to oil and gas exploration, workers rights and corporate taxes.
