However, a lot of people will answer the question by saying that celebrities and athletes are their heroes. This is because celebrities and athletes are the ones who are most displayed and shown through movies and television. They are looked up to and respected and they are the main interest in the society today because the media is a major aspect of American peoples' lives. People want to become successful like these celebrities and athletes and they want to live as happy and as comfortably as them as they seem to live. Someone who goes beyond one's expectations may be considered a hero. A heroic person must be willing to sacrifice his/her life for the society and for what is best for the society. This shows that material possessions and worldly things such as wealth do not matter in life, and that finding happiness in helping others does matter.
