Yours by Mary Roberson is a story describing the activities of a couple just prior to the wife's death. Allison struggles from her car. It is fall, around Halloween time hence the pumpkins. Clark is 78 years old and he married Allison who is much younger at 35years old. Clark's family disapproved greatly of their marriage. Clarke has lived his life as a doctor, now being retired. Allison has just begun her life, although her illness is cutting her time short. Clark and Allison are living their life trying to deal with Allison's illness. They are enjoying each other's attempts at creating jack-o'-lantern faces. Clark created a very artistic face for the pumpkin he was working on, while Allison made wedges for the eyes, and mouth of her jack-o'-lantern face. Clark tried to convince Allison that her rendition was better. After placing lit candles in the jack o' lanterns they both sit in the glider and watch them together. Allison cleaned up the mess and went to bed and started to die later that night, earlier than expected. Clark proceeded to call for an ambulance; the thoughts that began running through his mind were of the wish for more time. He stared through the window. Clarke began missing Allison already. He watched the jack-o'-lanterns and they watched him. .
