Towards the end of World War II, Dr. Ferdinand Porsche and his son Ferry had to reassemble Porsche Konstruktionsburo (factory). It was moved to Gmund, Austria, in 1945 to avoid being bombed by the allied forces of World War II. Both Dr. Ferdinand Porsche, and his son, Ferry were arrest by French authorities. They were suspected of helping the Axis. However, Ferry was released in 1946, and in 1947, Dr. Ferdinand was released as well. 1900’s, many cars were being developed and produced around the world. Some companies lasted, others failed to keep up. However, Dr. Ferdinand Porsche started to produce cars in 1948 and since then has produced some of the finest vehicles on the road. Since then, the Porsche industry has made considerable advancements over time in the areas of appearance, engine performance, and the overall popularity of sports cars.

Porsche saw opportunity at Austro-Daimler, and designed a new “Maja.” However, these didn’t fare well in the 1909 Prince Henry Trials. On September 19, 1909 Ferdinand Anton Ernst, Ferry, was born.
