Gun Violence Amongst Our Younger Generation
If you recently picked up a newspaper or turned on to see the news you may have questioned to yourself what is happening in our schools and begin to think whether our schools and neighborhoods are a safe place for our children. As Americans, we are faced with an ever-growing problem of violence. Our streets have become a battleground where teenage gangsters shoot it out for territorial turf to sell their drugs and innocent children are caught daily in the crossfire of drive by shootings. For this reason the effort at gun control does not address the real problem of gun crime.
Guns are more available today than they were in the 1970’s and 1980’s. Even though gun control laws might help some people to feel better and safe, it will not stop the person who intends to hurt someone.
