Cell phones have been around for quite some time, but as time goes on, cell phones continue to gain many features. A cell phone started out as just a simple device that had only numbers, and most people used them for emergencies only. Nowadays, cell phones have many features such as: phone calls, text messaging, accessing the web, taking pictures, using calculators, an alarm clock and many more. Cell phones are used daily for many reasons beyond emergencies.
There are many advantages of having a cell phone in my life. First of all, the most important reason is for when my car breaks down in the middle of no where; I can get a hold of someone for help. Or if an emergency occurred and I needed to get a hold of someone or someone needed to get a hold of me, it is convenient to always have access to a phone. Another advantage is having access to the web. Especially if I am going to be out of town and need to check my email or get on the internet, I will always have easy access. A big advantage of having a cell phone during class is if the lecture is boring I can text message my friends or play games on my phone. Another advantage of having a cell phone is if the electricity went out I would still have access to a telephone. Cell phones have made my life a lot easier.
Even though cell phones can make my life easier, they also have their disadvantages. The biggest disadvantage of a cell phone is when I go over my minutes, and I get the phone bill. Another disadvantage of having a cell phone is that I can always be reached.
