Hero

Now what does being a hero actually mean? Well in the dictionary it states many different definitions, but I would just like to focus on a few, which are: a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities; one that shows great courage; and an object of extreme admiration and devotion. These three definitions almost give a perfect example of what I would consider to be a hero, but one thing is missing. My personal definition of a hero would be more then just an admired person, but someone I want to become in all aspects. With this in mind what person can be my “hero” if my image of heroism is perfection? That would leave only two true heroes in my life and that is God and his son, Jesus Christ.

Christ is the only person that came to this world and did not commit a sin. Not only did he not commit one, but also he was crucified so that we are able to repent when we do sin. Being the human I am, I have made many mistakes. Some almost more than I can bear, but through God I have been able to get through it. Not only do these two beings help me live my life they are the reason that I am on the Earth today. There is no one else in my life that I want to be more like.

God is the person that I hope to be more like, b

I believe very strongly that everyone should have someone to admire if not someone to call his or her hero for the simple fact that everyone is on this Earth to become a better person. And everyone is unique with qualities that come more natural than others do. By noticing someone else’s strengths along with our own weaknesses we can strive to make our weakness the strength or quality we admire in our hero. That is the way life succeeds, by looking up, reaching a pulling ourselves to the next level.

ut until the next life I cannot accomplish that completely. I can only try, and there are many people that I do admire that help me in so many ways to become more like my heroes. The three definitions from the dictionary that I have previously spoken of not only describe my true heroes, but also the people I cherish.

Next is determination. This is a quality that comes so strong with his personality. Setting goals is a big part of his life and will always do everything in his power to achieve them. This can flow right with athleticism. I debated whether or not I admired him for this or was just jealous, but I concluded that I do truly admire him for his talent as an athlete. He works very hard every day in practices, games and weight lifting to become the amazing athlete he is. Next is his willingness to learn and be open minded. I cannot even think of a time that, when all joking was aside, he wasn’t open minded about my opinion and feelings and had a willingness to learn, trust or help me with whatever came about. The dictionary explained a hero as being: “a man admired for his achievements and noble qualities” and also “an object of extreme admiration and devotion.” These two definitions could not clarify the way I value my best friend any better.

I know that I would not be the person I am if I did not have the heroes I do and the people I look up to. I would not push myself to be a better person and to imagine if our whole culture did not str
