The plot of this story is a boy named Art goes out into the woods in search for a hawk that he had lost. While in the woods comes upon a magician named Merlin who has a talking owl named Archimedes. Merlin decides to become Arts tutor. Merlin teaches him how to become a gentleman. Art brought Merlin back to Sir Ector’s castle with him.
