             This year alone cigarettes will kill over 420,000 Americans, and many more will suffer from different kinds of cancers, circulatory and respiratory system diseases. These horrible illnesses were known to originate from cigarettes for years. Although smokers constitute the majority of people who suffer from cigarettes, they are not the only ones ailing from cigarette smoke. Cigarette smokers affect the health of tens of thousands of nonsmoking Americans a year. Of those who do not smoke 53,000 will die and countless others will suffer from cardiovascular diseases. The amount of second-hand smoke inhaled by the typical nonsmoker is equivalent to one cigarette smoked per day. Even that amount of cigarette smoke can damage a person's heart. Opponents to the banning of cigarettes will argue that it will create a profound negative impact on the economy. Cigarette smoking is increasing throughout time among mainly teens and adults seem to have a slight decrease since they are trying to quit. With the cost of cigarettes rising to almost four dollars for a box of 20, people do not see how much money they can save. An average smoker who smokes 5 cigarettes a day can save up to $364.00 a year. They do not realize that this nation places the health of its citizens above its financial status. Even though many people continue to remain convinced that freeing our country of cigarettes does not merit some economical loss, this remains as a necessary step in eradicating our country of these powerful restrains of life. There are a few straightforward reasons that do not benefit cigarette smokers, yet they still smoke. .
             Why do smokers start or continue to use cigarettes even though they are aware of the risks and health dangers in cigarettes? .
             The media contributes to the rise of cigarette smokers by giving widespread attention aiming at young teens, so they start when they are younger. Cigarette advertising is largely attributed to teenage smoking.
