Rights and Wrongs

The real downfall of society today is that what we"re told is that everyone has equal rights, but that's not true; there are many people who are of equal status on all levels, but treated as lesser beings because of something as trivial as their sexual orientation, religious beliefs, or colour of their skin.
I"m proud to be a Canadian at the moment, we"re moving forwards with the times because the change is necessary in order for the balance to be restored. Hetero-sexual couples are told that they are the only ones allowed to marry due to the fact of conception. However, since when was marriage based on the simple fact of conception as oppose to that of love? What right does the government have to say that a homo-sexual person has fewer rights than a hetero-sexual person just due to the fact that the homo-sexual couple cannot conceive a child? .
On the other hand, I look the United States of America and see a place of hate, distrust, and fear. If it's different it has to be killed or imprisoned; and who gave President Bush or any other government representative the right to decide who we as people are to be, what our individual personalities are to be.
Think about it, the world is a democratic place believe it or not, and there are rights and wrongs that need to be enforced and changed. The Human Rights Society would really think otherwise since we"re all people here to share the planet, why not just get along and put all the discontent to the side and think these things through logically, diplomatically, and with less violent methods.
Even if President Bush had say sent in a small strike force of let's say CIA, Navy SEALS, and some other Special OPS forces in maybe three, four, or even five strike teams that were small and stealthy, then this whole situation would be very different today. If the governments of the world could simply agree on something that made sense like peace for instance, it would be a much better place for everyone; and yes that includes terrorists some how.
