            Alcohol is a depressant that slows down body reactions and the working of the brain. Driving a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol can cause many problems and affect your health and well as your driving. There is a lot of evidence that shows how driving when drunk could decrease the amount of performance and good judgment behind the wheel. If you drink and drive, you are not only a danger to yourself but also to your passenger, other road users and pedestrians. In fact, every 30 minutes, someone in this country dies in alcohol-related crash. .
             Each year drunk driving is responsible for about 25% of deaths in the nation. The risks you take when driving drunk are alcohol-related accidents and violence also for immigrants from other countries can affect their citizenship rights when caught drunk by a police officer. Alcohol causes poor coordination, slurred speech, double vision, less self control, loss of consciousness and a high risk of death. There are legal outcomes to drinking also because by driving drunk you are breaking laws of the state. If someone drinks too much his/her ability to make important decisions is decreased, which may cause an accident or an act of violence. When a driver is issued a DUI (driving under the influence), there are high chances that the auto insurance for their vehicle will be increase then the normal amount. .
             After one drink, a driver could lose the ability to make choices that are necessary and helpful to drive a car without cause any harm to himself or other pedestrians. When a driver has more alcohol in his or her body then the amount allowed by the state he or she is, illegally intoxicated and could be arrested. Every state in USA has it own legal limit to how much alcohol you can have in your body if you are driving. For example, in California a driver is allowed to have 0.08% or less alcohol in the body and if caught with a higher amount his or her drivers license could be taken away, also could be arrested, sent to jail or given a fine.
