A Long Walk to Forever

A story about two high school friends who find out after high school that they have a passion for each other. However, it is too late for Newt, now enlisted in the army. He comes back to city he grew up in after hearing that his high school friend , Kate, who he was secretly in love with, is getting married. Once meeting Kate, Newt quickly tells her how he feels about her. Kate then discovers a love for Newt, but is reluctant to reveal it at such a vital time in her life. .
I felt this story was well written and displayed the dialogue and emotions of both Catherine and Newt quite well. It did not drag on and got straight to the point. However, the story is too unrealistic. Though Catherine discovered she had a love for Newt, she still had an obligation to love the man that she is engaged to more and tell Newt that she just couldn't love him. Also, if Newt really loved Catherine, he should feel happy for her and allow her wedding to go along as planned rather than try to ruin her celebration by telling her this devastating secret. .
This story did a very good job of displaying the emotions of both the characters. It showed what both characters felt about each other and Catherine's reluctance to wanting to get emotional with newt. It also contained a very good dialogue. It was written in a way that added to the effect of the conflict.
I recommend this story to anyone who enjoys love stories, because this story displays the power of love and how it can bring two people together. Although I would warn anyone who considers reading this story, that it is quite unrealistic. Reading this story made the movie "Pearl Harbour" look good.
