Canadian Metis

I agree with the statement because the Metis, the Aboriginal and the Political Parties did not win anything in the rebellion. Even though a peaceful attempt was attempted with the signing of a petition, in the end there was blood shed. The Metis did not win because many Metis fled to the wilderness in northern Alberta or other took scrip worth $169-$240, when they had spent there money the had no money or land left. The Metis nation was broke up not until the 20th century was it reformed. The Aboriginals did not win because there only rebellion was put down by force, they realized that the government was going to enforce the treaties because the rebellion was unsuccessful they had to move on to reserves. Plus all Aboriginals that took part in the rebellion lose the payments from the government and all they horses and ammunition was taken from them. The Political Parties did not win because many people in Quebec stopped voting for the conservative party (the party that hanged Reil), most people started to vote for the liberal party after they got a French-Canadian leader, Wilfrid Laurier.
The Metis did not win because there ways were lost in the way that the broke up the wilderness. For the ones that did not run and took so money, they just blew it and were poor once again. The Metis did not be come a nation again till the 20th century many years after they broke up.
The Aboriginal people did not win because they were up down by force (were beat in war many lives were lost). They were forced to live on reserves since the rebellion was unsuccessful and the government was going to in force the treaties, they had no other choice but to live on reserves. The Aboriginal people that took place in the rebellion lost their annual government payments (annuity). .
The Political Parties did not win because the people stopped voting for the conservative party because they stopped supporting the party that hung Reil.
