On September 11th 2001, 19 terrorists hijacked four planes. The hijackers of two planes flew them in to the world trade centers, killing thousands. The last plane was on root to Washington D.C, but crashed in a field in Pennsylvania. The hijackers of the planes were from different Arab states. They were part of a terrorist group lead by Osama bin Ladin, there purpose was to start a holy war against the United States. .

Australia, Britain, Bulgaria, Canada, Greece, India, New Zealand, Norway, Philippians, Spain, and Uzbekistan offered full military support in the war. Troops were sent to Afghanistan to remove the Taliban. The war is still going on today.
The government then formed a department of homeland security to protect their nation from terrorism. This deal was signed by President Bush on October 1rst. To inform the citizens of America how much danger they are in from terrorist threats, the government then formed a terror rating to be broadcast on the American news. .
While the government of America was finding ways to protect their homeland, the citizens waited in horror for another attack. Night after night people would watch the news and see this terror rating and the organization of the department of homeland security. It was like they were living somewhere, where it wasn't safe to go outside of your house. Americans got more and more paranoid after Sept. 11th. Not only paranoia, but there was a great sense of hate towards the Arab people from Americans. Some people say "could you blame them? There country was attacked by them.
