Can't We All Just Get Along?

Mother against daughter, boyfriend against girlfriend, every time I look around I see conflict as if conflict is a way of life. However I have always I tended to lead a virtually drama free existence, which means that I would avoid conflict, arguments, or problems. Unfortunately there was an instance where I felt so disrespected that the only way to end the dispute was with violence.
My story begins on a warm summer day at twelve in the afternoon. My parents had gone to work for the day and I was home alone. I decided to invite my best friend over so we can spend time together watching television and playing video games. He received a phone call on his cell phone and stepped out of the room. I eaves dropped on his conversation and I heard him saying, " Don't come over it's not what you think." Bobby then came back into the room and we continued to watch TV. A short time later I heard three loud knocks on the screen door of my house. I ran to the door assuming that some type of emergency had taken place, only to find his ex- girlfriend standing at my door with a knife. I must say that this encounter in reality lased for about 5 minutes yet it felt more like ten hours. My best friend proceeded to open the door and take the knife from her. I stepped in between them to be the peacemaker and avoid injury to both of them. At this moment the unthinkable happened, she swung the knife at me. This girl was acting very deranged, she kept screaming, cursing and yelling things like if I cant have him nobody will. I then became blind with rage all I could see was red, and I hauled off and hit her in the mouth. She dropped the knife and we fought until the neighbors came out and broke us up, but we would not stop fighting so Bobby decided to spray us with the water hose. I did not care all I could think about was how she disrespected my home, my neighborhood and my life. .
After this episode I saw this girl a couple of times and we exchanged words although we never fought again, The last time I saw her, as she was leaving I yelled to her, "You will never disrespect me again as long as you breath.
