Balancing College, Work and Family

Completing my college and working as a banker for 5 years, I never thought I would have to start over again. Becoming a mother brought many joys in my life but also brought many challenges and changes to my life. One of those changes is quitting my bank job to become a full time stay at home mom. After seven years taking care of kids, husband and house, it was time for me to gain my self-fulfillment. This is when I enrolled for my online degree in Early Childhood Education. Since I am unemployed currently, balancing my studies with housework and family demands is bit manageable; however still it's a biggest challenge for me to achieve a right balance between my studies and family. My husband is out of town through out the week for his job. I have to manage my studies, housework and take care of our two boys a 9 year old and 4 year old. My day starts at 6.00 am waking up the boys, packing lunch, preparing breakfast, getting the elder one ready for school and then driving him to school. By the time I am back its 8.30 a.m. Now its me and my younger one till its time to pick up my elder son from school which is 3.00 pm. I have around 6 hours for my studies, housework, cooking, cleaning, any phone calls and the most important and difficult, keeping my little one busy. In between I also need to do some activities with my younger one to get him ready for kindergarten next year. After cleaning and preparing lunch, finally I think I am done and can complete my assignment, which needs to be submitted at the earliest. I start with the assignment and there comes the little one asking to play with him, so then I have to stop everything and entertain him. This distraction is not one time, it happens very often. Usually we try to do all our groceries on weekends, that's when my husband is home and I get some help with the work, but still sometimes I have to visit the grocery store during weekdays, if I am out of milk or other stuff.
