She instant started liking Wickham and because of that it caused prejudice towards him. Darcy proposed her and present his felling toward her when these lover meet at Rosings. Elizabeth rejects her and accused him for ruining Wickham and Jane's life. Darcy wrote Elizabeth letter explaining her everything and he also expresses apologies for Jane. Darcy does not believe in Wickham stories and tells Elizabeth the truth. This letter made Elizabeth feel ashamed for misunderstand Darcy. It also "corrects Elizabeth's misconceptions and removes the offending obstacles to appropriate marriages of the two older Bennet daughters"(Basson). Jane Austen is using Darcy's letter, one of the most imperative letter, to show change in state of mind. Her sharpness also helps her get Darcy's love at the finish of the novel. .
Its external conflict, man verses society, Elizabeth and Darcy verses society. Society and Lady Catherine has the same opinion, and because of that she stand as a conflict to counteract from getting them married. She does not want them to get married because they have dissimilar social rank. Lady Speaks to both, Elizabeth and Darcy, and suggest them "if (she) were sensible of (her) own good, (she) would not wish to quit the sphere, in which (she has) been brought up" (337). Elizabeth shares her belief that she and Darcy are equal because he is a gentleman and she is daughter of a gentleman and because of this reason she thinks there is no difference between Darcy and herself. Middle class that time were always remind about how they are not fortunate as upper class and they are poor. As soon as Elizabeth presented her objection "(Lady Catherine) would never give (Elizabeth) consent to what she termed so disgraceful a match," (343). Mr. Collins tell Elizabeth and Darcy, behalf of Lady Catherine, that if they get married without Lady Catherine saying yes it will be sanction marriage. This once again illustrates how middle class was controlled by upper class and also how they have to listen and follow upper class all the time.
