The Good and Bad of Stereotypes

Another example, if a young boy is stereotyped as a young kid and obese, these words will have an impact of that young boy which obviously won't make him feel good inside. Many of these stereotypes can create a psychological issue, which pressures people to rethink how they look, or how to act in this confusing social world. Stereotypes can also be seen among genders, the most common stereotype is that most bad drivers are woman. This adds more weight to the psychological pressure that people have to change their selves because of another person's opinion. Most people want to be around people who they can simply trust because they aren't being labelled as a group. .
Additionally, most situations where people are worrying about their personal outcome is when they're worried about what everyone else is thinking. Individuals who constantly think about failure and perfection end up worrying about the negative stereotypes that could possibly occur in that situation. Many people who are placed in these stereotypical groups worry about everything they do, which will cause a lot of stress, because they are so worried about being perfect to society's eyes rather than themselves. Nobody likes to be criticized all the time, but it happens all the time. There isn't a single person on this planet who could close out everyone's stereotypes, but you can learn to block out these irrelevant judgments. Anyone would get tired of being ridiculed day in and day out for what they look like. In today's society, stereotypes have gotten progressively worse, affecting the lives of people. There are recent incidents that portray African American males as being suspicious characters, which catch the eye of law enforcement. In an article by Nicholas Peart, he states "It was the same routine: I was stopped, frisked, searched, ID'd and let go" (Peart 478). This scenario is trying to explain how he was stereotyped by the police because of his ethnic background.
