On another day she returns to the club in a formal white dress with a leopard print collar. Her hair and make-up are done and put together. Ike Turner was performing on stage again, and passes the microphone around the audience to allow women to sing lyrics in the song. When the microphone gets to Anne Mae, she hits the stage with her powerful voice and Ike's eye light up in interest. Her voice caught his attention as Anne Mae wanted. That night, Ike took Anne Mae to eat and explained to her that he would like her to be his new lead singer. This is when the honeymoon stage, fine dining, expensive clothes, and money, begins. .
             The morning after her performance, Ike arrives at her home in a fancy red car and blue suede suit. Her mom answers the door and is introduced to the famous Ike Turner. His charm and compliments are showered upon Anne Mae's mother. She is unsure of his reason for the necessary of his presence at her home. He goes on to explain that he wants Anne Mae to go to rehearsal that night and become the lead singer of Ike and the king of rhythm. During this time, Ike takes her out and buys her cars, clothes, jewelry, anything that she wants to make her into the focus of the group. She has to be the staple of their group. In the back of Ike's mind, she is the ticket to his fame and fortune. Anne Mae is falling in love with Ike Turner because she is receiving the attention from a man that she never got from her father. The lack of attention and guidance from her father as a child has led her to search for that attention from other men. As they continued to tour, Ike showed her affection, love, happiness, showered her with compliments, and boosted her confidence to the level necessary to perform and become a successful woman. As he slowly reeled her in, she opened her heart to Ike and let him grab hold of it. Unknown to her, he takes advantage and abuses all women that are in his life.
